Ed’s father and grandfather sold produce at the original Old City Market in Omaha. Some of our most popular crops are potatoes, green beans, and onions. We are Ed and Donna Welchert, and we’ve been providing fresh, locally-grown produce through the Omaha Farmers Market since its inception in 1994. We're obsessed with making as many delicious vegetables available to you, as soon as they're picked. If you want to get your hands on some of the fruits of our labor, they can be found at farmer's markets, at local businesses, and through our CSA. They are good for our employees, our land, and of course, our amazing customers. The farm was granted certified organic status in 2015 and while we aren't currently certified, we are committed to using organic practices. But for the past eleven years, our family has worked to transition a portion of the farm to grow vegetables and fruit using organic methods. Corn, soybeans, cattle, chickens, hogs, and hay have all been a part of the farm's history. Grandma and Grandpa moved to this farm in 1941, and since then we've been growing: the farm, the family, and the food. Trying to respond to Google reviews to make yourself look better. Even your waitress told us he was fine and not loud when we told her what you did. And you are responding in a way to make it as if we had an unruly child. Paying over $100 dollars to support a local restaurant gone horribly wrong. Literally the rudest experience I've ever had at a restaurant. He was playing with it and that was our mistake. He was never swinging the lamp in the air until you grabbed it from him pulling his arm up in the air with it. Literally had the check at our table paying to leave. He did get antsy in the last 5 MINUTES we were there. My son was quiet the ENTIRE time watching YouTube. ***since I can't respond to the owners response. And if you have young kids, I advise you not go. She ruined our entire previously enjoyable dining experience.
If you don't like kids in your establishment then just say that. Just complained of how loud our child was.
She never asked us how our food was or anything. Addressing my 3 y/o son instead of his parents and told him he was extremely loud and needs to learn what an inside voice is. the cook (I'm assuming also the owner) came over to our table. The kitchen was also next to our section with a partial wall. We also were in a secluded section surrounded by partial walls and only one empty table next to us. Which we were wrapping up to leave within the next few minutes. At this point our toddler was getting antsy and ready to leave. Our waitress was attentive, very friendly and over all just AWESOME! Our experience was really great until we were literally paying our tab to leave.
